In June of 2019, our Executive Director, Sarah Haacke Byrd, was interviewed by Philanthropy Women about how WMM is enacting social change by empowering the unique women who make bold investments in women and girls. In the piece, Sarah remarks on how she first got involved in gender-related issues and speaks to the new era of women and wealth and the need to embolden these female leaders and help challenge them to be strategic philanthropists. “With women currently holding one-third of the world’s wealth (and growing), we’ve entered a new era where women are realizing their power, position, and influence…We encourage our members to challenge themselves to be better philanthropists, to deploy creativity in terms of problem-solving, and to listen to those changemakers on the ground who are implementing solutions.” Read the full piece here.
