In 2025, Women Moving Millions conducted a rapid response survey of our members to learn how they are rising to meet the current moment characterized by growing political and economic instability and threats to human rights and gender equality.
We found that WMM members are leading with urgency and ambition, not only increasing their giving, but also transcending traditional funding models by listening to what their grantees most need and acting swiftly and flexibly to fill those gaps. They’re investing in long-term solutions while also responding to immediate needs and embracing risk and innovation, with two-thirds considering supporting new causes they haven’t previously funded.
Members are leaning into community, underscoring the power and potential of WMM to cultivate strategic collaboration, foster bold leadership, and facilitate effective responses to crises. The desire for even more peer connection, education, and collective funding mechanisms reflects our community’s recognition of leading not just through individual giving, but through the strategic collaboration and powerful networks that define WMM.
