The Catalyzing Change 2025 report builds on our inaugural report, offering a deeper examination of WMM members’ 2024 philanthropic giving, leadership, and collaborative efforts to drive gender equality, focusing especially on the ripple effects of member philanthropy in the gender equality landscape.
In 2024, members gave $173 million to intersectional causes benefiting women and girls, marking a 10% increase from 2023. Over two-thirds reported increasing the size of their gifts to support gender equality, and 91% reported giving unrestricted dollars for some or most of their giving. As revealed in the 2023 report, belonging to a trusted peer community continued to deepen the joy and purpose members experience in this work. Moreover, this community has also meaningfully increased members’ willingness to give in new, bold ways by de-risking giving and fostering confidence. This not only drives greater leadership among members, but also delivers exponential results in philanthropy. By combining financial resources, social capital, and collective action, members extend their influence far beyond individual contributions—shaping programs, driving systemic change, and amplifying the movement for gender equity worldwide.
