Sarah Haacke Byrd is a philanthropy and social impact leader, serving as CEO of Women Moving Millions since 2018. Under Sarah’s bold leadership, the organization has mobilized nearly $300 million in new funding for women and girls globally. In 2025, Sarah was named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Philanthropists, honoring her transformative impact on gender equity and her efforts to build a more connected and strategic funding ecosystem for the women’s rights movement. In 2023, Inside Philanthropy named her one of the 50 most powerful women in U.S. philanthropy for her “catalytic” leadership.

With over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, Sarah has a deep understanding of the complex issues facing women and girls globally and a strong commitment to driving large-scale social change. Sarah has built, guided and led nonprofit organizations in Boston, Washington, D.C., and New York dedicated to strengthening democracy, expanding human rights, and advancing gender equality. Previously, Sarah worked for notable organizations, including the Joyful Heart Foundation, where she led the campaign to eliminate the backlog of hundreds of thousands of untested rape kits in the U.S. 

Sarah has been recognized throughout her career for her ability to build and lead high-performing teams and drive strategic growth in mission-driven organizations. She has been an advisor to various philanthropic initiatives and is known for her ability to mobilize and inspire the public and private sector to make significant investments in social change.

She currently serves on the boards of GoFundMe.org and Future Forward Women, and is a founding board member of the Hive Gender Climate Justice Fund. Sarah is also a Civil Society Fellow with the Aspen Institute. She lives in New York City with her husband.

Kimberly Abbott is a global communications leader with more than 25 years of experience in news and nonprofit storytelling. She has led communications, marketing and external relations at nonprofit organizations including The Fuller Project, the International Crisis Group, World Learning, and InterAction, and has consulted for many others, specializing in gender, education, foreign policy and underreported humanitarian issues in post-conflict situations. As a journalist, she covered breaking news around the world for CNN, and worked for France 3, BFM Radio, and Radio France in Paris, and in the local Boston and Atlanta news markets. Building on her on-air experience, she has media trained hundreds of C-Suite leaders, academics and policy experts on message development and camera-ready techniques. She has been a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is the recipient of numerous fellowships in journalism and international affairs from the Radio Television News Directors Foundation, German Marshall Fund, Atlantik-Brucke German-American Foundation, French American Foundation, and others. Her career has also included time on Capitol Hill, in U.S. presidential politics, and as an envoy and translator for the Centennial Olympic Games. A French speaker, Kimberly earned a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism from Boston University and studied French media at the Ecole Française des Attachés de Presse in Paris. She lives in Maryland with her husband and teenage son.

Amanda Griffin is the Director of Community Engagement at WMM. Amanda works to foster and deepen community engagement among current members while implementing recruitment strategies to attain new WMM members. In addition to member stewardship (including fundraising and outreach), Amanda provides strategic oversight for all internal and external communications, as well as the execution of WMM’s in-person events and programs. Prior to joining WMM, Amanda worked as a Paralegal at Cetrulo LLP in Boston, MA, where she supported the defense of high profile and complex civil litigation claims. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in both Political Science and French from the University of Vermont.

Shar Jaidev is the Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives at Women Moving Millions. She comes to us from UNICEF USA where she’s been for five years, most recently as Director of Foundation Partnerships and Operations. Shar managed high-priority Foundation partners and served as the team lead for Health and Polio fundraising. She also served as the operations lead, managing budgets, data, reporting, knowledge management, and protocol development. Prior to UNICEF USA, Shar worked at the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) where she advised Ministries of Health in Lesotho, Uganda, and Malawi on their pediatric HIV strategy to achieve UNAIDS 90-90-90 goals. She began her career on Wall Street, where she spent four years in sales and trading at Citi. Shar has a B.A. with Honors in Mathematical Methods in Social Sciences and Economics from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, specializing in Social Impact, Marketing, and Management.

Michelle has dedicated her career to guiding rising leaders and innovators along their leadership journeys through the implementation of development workshops, learning programs and professional exchanges. As Program Manager at Women Moving Millions (WMM), Michelle plays a key role in overseeing the development and execution of member programming that supports and strengthens WMM’s mission to catalyze greater resources for a gender equal world. She is also responsible for curating content for The Lens, WMM’s unique online hub for all resources related to the field of gender lens philanthropy. Prior to Women Moving Millions, Michelle served as a Senior Program Officer at the nonprofit, international exchange organization, Cultural Vistas. Her portfolio of programs included the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program, the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), and more recently, the Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program. Thus far, her work has taken her around the United States as well as to Cambodia and Germany. In 2019, Michelle received her MPA in Public Administration from the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. She received her BA in 2010 in International Relations from the George Washington University, Elliott School of International Affairs. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and their 10 houseplants.

Ana Silva is the Executive Support and Operations Associate at Women Moving Millions. She provides support to the Chief Executive Officer including the scheduling of internal and external meetings, board and committee coordination, events, research, and communications. Additionally, she works with other staff to support member engagement programs and other strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Women Moving Millions, Ana worked as a Scheduler at Diagnostic Endoscopy Center. She graduated from the University of Bridgeport and holds a B.A. in Religion and Politics with a concentration in Islamic Religion & Society, and a B.A. in International Political Economy and Diplomacy with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies. While studying at UB, Ana interned at refugee focused NGO’s, the Center for Political Studies in Jordan and had the opportunity to participate in an intensive language study abroad program in Morocco.
